Headteacher’s Welcome

I am proud as the new Head of School to welcome you to The Prescot School.

The Prescot School is part of The Heath Family Trust (Northwest) which we joined as a converter academy in August 2016. We are an 11- 16 school with currently 800 students on roll. We have a new leadership structure in place this year with a Head of School who is at The Prescot School all week and an executive Head Teacher who will work alongside the Head of School, staff and students for two and a half days. The Heath family Trust have a proven track record of successful school support and our students will benefit from the expertise both within the school and across our partner schools in the Multi Academy Trust.

Students and Parents want a school where students can learn, be safe and be happy and our dedicated staff work with the students to achieve this. Personal success and academic achievement are at the heart of our inclusive learning community and  underpins all that we do.

We have high standards and are focused on our students achieving the best that they can in all aspects of school life. Students are placed in teaching groups to suit their ability and their progress is regularly checked and measured and appropriate support and guidance given where needed. The school focuses on delivering good quality teaching with appropriate pace and challenge and high expectations of behaviour. We value the work the students produce and celebrate achievements and success in many ways throughout the year.

Our students are excellent ambassadors and work with staff in a variety of leadership roles ensuring that they play a valuable part in our school community. Our school is proud of its community spirit and The Prescot School is a community where we respect each other and make every effort to persevere and work together, to access opportunities and achieve success in all we do.

Parents are very welcome to visit the school at any time of the day to see The Prescot School in action, visitors to school often comment on the positive and purposeful environment that they encounter and the friendly and happy atmosphere in school.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you to ensure that your child is happy, safe and fulfils their potential in all aspects of learning so that they are able to lead productive and happy lives.

Mrs A Kennedy
Head of School

Well done to all the students who performed in Violent Ends with Imaginarium Theatre! It was a thought-provoking performance, that really highlighted the dangers and consequences of knife crime. #nomoreknives
