On Wednesday 3rd February 2016, the music department put on a GCSE Music Recital Evening where the Year 10 and 11 music students could showcase some of their performing and composing work. Some of this material will be used for their coursework, and the night proved to be a good opportunity for them to prepare, and for parents, teachers and other students to see exactly what they’ve been working on.
Every single student who participated did themselves proud and were an absolute credit to the school. We are lucky to have such talented students who can play a diverse range of fantastic music between them. Not just in the performers, but also the key stage 3 students who did the lighting and sound for the evening and to our prefects who were excellent hosts, and acting ushers.
The programme included quite a few singers (solo, duet and ensembles), rock bands and solo instrumentalists. There were seventeen performances in total.
