On Thursday 28th September 2017 we held our ‘Meet the Form Teacher’ event in our atrium. The event was very well attended both by parents and year 7 pupils. Form teachers enjoyed meeting parents and reassuring them of the fantastic start that their children had made at The Prescot School.
On the evening parents were given details of how they could view their child’s homework and behaviour record on the online Classcharts system. They were also given the opportunity to discuss any concerns or worries they may have had, as well as pass on any information they felt we should know.
There was also the opportunity for parents to meet Senior Staff in the school, our Head of Year 7 Mrs Thompson and The SENDCO Mrs Ness.
Parents and pupils were able to get refreshments supplied by the Schools STEM club, and a range of home baked cakes were also available. The STEM club pupils have attended many school events, and always impress with their mature and polite attitude. The club are currently trying to raise money to buy science equipment for a school in Romania.
As parents and pupils were leaving they were asked to complete a questionnaire, to give their opinions on the transition from primary to secondary school. The opinions we got from both the pupils and their parents were very positive.
100% of parents surveyed would recommend The Prescot School to other parents or carers, and 100% of year 7 pupils found the work in class challenging and interesting and were proud to be members of The Prescot School community.
We look forward to meeting the parents again later in the year at our Year 7 Parents Evening in May 2017.
