Below are some of the immunisation services offered in school through the local NHS Immunisation Service.
Measles
The number of children catching measles is rising. The safest and most effective way to prevent measles is to ensure your child is fully vaccinated with MMR vaccine. Your child should have two doses of MMR to maximise protection against measles. If you are unsure if your child has had two doses please contact the immunisation service on the number below.
HPV
In England, girls and boys aged 12 to 13 years are routinely offered the 1st HPV vaccination when theyβre in school Year 8. The 2nd dose is offered 6 to 24 months after the 1st dose.
Boosters and Catch Ups
Adolescent Booster & Catch Up Immunisations The Adolescent booster is offered to all pupils within year 10. This is their 5th and final dose of combined: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio. The immunisation service also offer any immunisations that have previously been missed as part of a catch up programme, including MenC and MMR this will offer long term protection against infectious diseases.
