Meet the Senior Leadership Team

Mr Reynolds - Principal

Mr. Matthew Reynolds was appointed Principal of The Prescot School, assuming the role in September 2024.

With over 20 years of experience as a qualified teacher, Mr. Reynolds has built an extensive career in education, teaching at schools in both Manchester and Warrington. His leadership journey has included roles as Head of Year, Assistant Principal, and Vice Principal.

Mr. Reynolds holds a Master’s degree in Education (MA) and has successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). His academic foundation began at Liverpool John Moores University, where he specialised in Physical Education, reflecting his lifelong passion for sports. Among his favourite activities are Rugby League and Cricket, though he enjoys a wide range of athletic pursuits.

A family man, Mr. Reynolds is married and the proud father of two children.

Mr Kevan - Vice Principal, Quality of Education

With a dedicated career spanning over two decades, Mr Kevan has been an integral part of the education sector. Starting with four years of experience in primary education, Mr Kevan joined The Prescot School, where they have served with distinction for 24 years.

Throughout their time at The Prescot School, Mr Kevan has demonstrated exceptional leadership and versatility, having held roles such as Head of Media Studies and Head of Year. In 2021, Mr Kevan was appointed Vice Principal for Curriculum, a role that underscores their commitment to fostering academic excellence and driving curriculum innovation.

Mr Kevan remains passionate about empowering students and shaping the future of education at The Prescot School.

Mrs Earps - Vice Principal, Pastoral

Mrs Earps has been teaching for 20 years. She has worked for The Health Family Trust since 2014 and at The Prescot School since 2019. Mrs Earps began her teaching career as an English teacher training at Edge Hill University; she enjoyed working in Liverpool schools and chose to stay.

She has worked as a Specialist Leader of Education developing English and Pupil Premium, as a SENDCo supporting inclusion with The Prescot School and has been a Designated Safeguarding Lead since 2011. As our Vice Principal, Mrs Earps uses this learning to lead our pastoral team and support the safeguarding needs of our pupils.

Mr Cleator - Assistant Principal, Teaching and Learning

Mr Cleator has been teaching for over 10 years and has recently started at The Prescot School. He began his career at an all-girls school in Liverpool.

In 2020 he was appointed Head of Science at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy where he successfully developed their new science curriculum and in 2023 was seconded onto the senior leadership team. 

Originally studying Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, Mr Cleator's passion for science still remains and teaching the next crop of young scientists is still very much at the heart of his focus in school. 

In 2024, Mr Cleator was appointed Assistant Principal for teaching and learning at The Prescot School where he has laid the foundations for a new TPS lesson. 

Mr Conway-Williams - Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Assessment

Mr Conway began their teaching career in 2009 in Stockbridge Village, where they laid the foundation for a dedicated and impactful journey in education. In 2013, they took on the role of Key Stage 4 Lead in mathematics at Kirkby High School, demonstrating their leadership and commitment to student success. In 2014, Mr Conway joined The Prescot School, then known as Knowsley Park Centre for Learning, as a Lead Practitioner of mathematics. Their expertise and passion for the subject led to their appointment as Head of Department in 2019.

In 2021, Mr Conway was appointed to the Senior Leadership Team at The Prescot School, where they have been actively involved in improving behaviour, progress, and outcomes. A fervent advocate for mathematics education, Mr Conway is dedicated to ensuring that students in Knowsley receive a high-quality education that prepares them for their future endeavours. They work tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for their students while fostering an appreciation for the beauty of mathematics and the opportunities it can unlock in the wider world.

Mrs Fox - Assistant Principal, Personal Development

With over 15 years of experience in education, Mrs. Fox has dedicated her career to fostering academic excellence and personal growth in students. She began her teaching journey in Southeast London at Eltham Green School, where she taught science, before advancing to The Priory School in Orpington as Head of Department. During her tenure at The Priory, she took on the role of Assistant Principal for Behaviour and successfully led an Alternative Provision within the school.

Mrs. Fox later joined Harris Academy Orpington, where she held a range of leadership positions, including Raising Standards Leader, Head of Faculty, Safeguarding Lead, and Director of Sixth Form.

A graduate in Chemistry, Mrs. Fox’s first passion lies in science. She believes that science is a cornerstone for understanding and applying knowledge about the natural and social world, inspiring her to bring enthusiasm and innovation to the classroom.

In 2021, Mrs. Fox relocated to the Northwest and joined The Prescot School as Head of Science. In 2022 Mrs Fox became Assistant Principal and she currently oversees Personal Development across the school while continuing to teach science, ensuring students receive a holistic and enriching education.

Mr Tyler - Assistant Principal, Attendance and Behaviour

Mr Tyler has been teaching for thirteen years, joining the Prescot School in October 2024 as Assistant Principal leading Behaviour and Attendance. Mr Tyler was formerly an Assistant Principal at a large secondary comprehensive school on Wirral for six years. Mr Tyler was part of a team of staff who successfully managed the turn around of the school which was historically “Requires improvement” to “Good”.

In his previous employment Mr Tyler successfully developed bespoke behaviour and attendance systems to significantly improve school culture and improve school attendance to in line with national average.

Mr Tyler has extensive experience as a head of department and a pastoral lead prior to his Assistant Principal position.

Mr Tyler attended the University of Chester to achieving a 2:1 degree in Computer Science and then to Liverpool Hope University completing his PGCE to qualify as a teacher.

Miss Barnard - Associate Assistant Principal, Vocational Subjects and Enrichment

Miss Barnard has been teaching for over 20 years, with The Prescot School since 2005. Beginning her teacher training at The Prescot School. She has also taught for two years in New Zealand.

Miss Barnard originally began her career as an English and Drama teacher and was soon appointed to Head of Drama. In 2024 she was appointed as Senior Leader of Vocational studies.

Originally studying Drama and English at Birkenhead College in Auckland, New Zealand. She then went on to gain her degree at The University of Auckland. Upon completion she emigrated to the UK and completed her teaching qualification at Liverpool Hope University. Miss Barnard is passionate about the performing arts and encourages young people to explore and be creative within lessons, in extra-curricular activities and around the school.

In 2024 Miss Barnard, who lives in South Liverpool with her young family, was appointed responsibility for extra-curricular activities within the school and actively promotes the benefits and importance of the learning opportunities outside of the classroom as well as within lessons.
